Carnival Party Games
Enjoy Playing Tossing and Throwing Carnival Party Games
One of the best memories of a normal, happy childhood is going to the carnivals and fairs that regularly come into town. These were events that children and adults anticipated and enjoyed at different levels. Well, why not bring back those happy memories with carnival party games?
There is absolutely no need to erect a tent, set up booths and hire a Ferris wheel for the purpose. Not only is that impractical for a one-day party in your small front yard but it is also very expensive unless you are the richest man on Earth. (Sorry, that spot is already taken)
In these carnival games, you only need basic materials like scissors, glue, cardboard and construction paper, maybe some kids' toys and plenty of your love for fun and games. Add a healthy dose of imagination and you are all set!
Toss Games
The easiest of the numerous possibilities for carnival party games are the so-called toss games. As the name implies, the players toss something into another thing ostensibly to knock down or shoot it. You can add your own variation to these games although these are fine just as they are in their original forms.
Let's start with the penny toss. You start by wrapping a piece of board with brightly colored paper or you can paint it, too. Then, wrap small metal cans in various colored paper, place masking tapes underneath them, and then position them on the board. The children can then throw pennies into the metal can from a designated point, small prizes of which will be handed out depending on the number of coins successfully tossed into the cans.
And then there is the elephant ring toss, which is one of the more difficult carnival party games. You should paint big elephant ears, eyes and mouth on a cardboard box. Then, using an old vacuum hose and thick metal wire, configure them so as to make the elephant's nose. Let the children throw small rings into the makeshift nose and award prizes, too.
Throwing Games
In many ways, throwing games are like tossing games expect for a small difference - the latter involves more force while the former demands finesse. Thus, the individuals who win in one game may not necessarily win in the other games, making for fun for everybody.
First, there is the knockdown game, which is the most versatile of all carnival party games because you can use a variety of materials. You can either use empty tin cans or wooden blocks that can be arranged into a pyramid. The kids will try to knock down the arrangement using balls, bean bags and even water guns, one prize for every person who can completely knock down the whole setup. This is very similar to the baseball throw, of course. If you have the balls, you can have the kids throw them, too, thereby encouraging their athletic skills.
Second, you can have the dart game. This time, you need not go to the trouble of buying a dart board with a bulls' eye. Just pin on inflated small balloons into a plywood or corkwood, provide each person with three darts and have them throw it into the balloons. And pop they go!
Carnival party games are a blast! You just need to put a little effort into them to enjoy, to boot.
