Egyptian Ratscrew
Egyptian Ratscrew is a card accumulating game so you want end up with all the cards. It is also known as Egyptian War, Slap, and Bloodystump.
To start off get a deck of cards (and more if you have a large amount of players). Shuffle and distribute the cards, if there any extra put them in a pile in the middle. Make sure no one looks at their cards!
A player starts the game off by placing a card face up in the center. Go clockwise and everyone follows suite. There are two things that can happen. Either face card or ace comes up or there is a slap. When a face card or ace comes the next player has a certain amount of chances get another face card or ace. Print These Party Games To Get the Party Rolling The chances: - Ace: four chances
- King: three chances
- Queen: two chances
- Jack: one chance (this makes the jack the most powerful)
Example... Say player 1 puts down a Queen. Player 2 then has the opportunity to put two of his cards face up on the pile. If none of players 2's cards are a face card or ace then player 1 gets the entire pile. But, if player 2 were to get a Jack then player 3 has one chance to place a face card or ace. If player 3 fails, then player 2 gets all the cards. That's the first way of accumulating cards. A slap can occur when there are two cards of the same value in a row. You can also slap if those two cards are only separated by one card (a sandwich). The person who slaps first gets all the cards in the pile. If a person performs a false slap the penalty is to put a single card under the pile. This is called a one-under. The game ends when someone holds all the cards! Now, if you want make this game full-contact... ..whenever there is an opportunity to slap, the cards are open to everyone! The players get whatever they can grab. As you can imagine, things may get a little crazy. But, that's what makes it fun!
