Picture Phone
One of the most exciting Fun Games to Play!
Ah...Picture Phone. One of my favorite party games of all time. Pictionary and telephone mashed into one. It also has about a zillion names: The Sentence Game, The Paper Game, Telephone Pictionary, Meanwhile, Pictophone, Pictodash, Telepictionary, Paper Telephone, Fax machine, Eat Poop You Cat (no, really) Descriptionary, Writesy Drawsy, Cell Phone, Pictelephone, Pictotelephonary, Descriptophone, Picture Consequences and Piccon. Phew. Print These Party Games To Get the Party Rolling
If you were searching for free party games this one is a direct hit for all ages. You'll need about 5 people or more to get good results. Each person will need a pen or pencil and a number of index cards equal to the number of people playing plus one. The last thing you need is a timer. Number your cards in the top right corner. Let's get this party game started... Think of a word or phrase. Write it down. When everyone has done so pass your entire stack of papers to your right. Make sure the card with your word is facing up. Start the timer. Everyone reads the word or phrase then places it at the bottom of that pile and draws what he or she read on the next card. When the timer ends pass the entire deck to the right. Now this time everyone looks at the picture, places the card at the bottom and then writes a word or phrase that describes the picture. When your pile gets back to you, show everyone your cards (I like to call it "story time"). Your game of picture phone is over. But wait! Flip your cards over and pass to your left! This fun party game is pure brilliance. Every time I play this fun party game I cannot keep from laughing! Seeing how the word or phrase transforms as it goes person to person is hilarious. When thinking of a word or phrase at the beginning I like to pick something tricky or abstract. Writing ideas like "free will" and people like "Sigmund Freud" have hysterical outcomes. With timing you can start out with a minute, but try decreasing the time each round...makes things more exciting
