Spoons Game

Throw some spoons and cards together and you have this amazing card game!

For Spoons Game you'll need one deck (or more if you have a lot of people, remove the jokers) and a number of spoons (knives are no no) equal to the number of people minus one.

Everyone sits in a circle, close enough that you can reach each other. Place the spoons in the middle in a circle with the handles towards the players.

To begin the dealer gives everyone four cards and keeps the deck.

The dealer then takes one card from the deck. The goal is to get four of a kind. So, the dealer passes one card from his hand that he doesn't want to the player on his left. That player looks at his cards and then passes one on. While this is happening the dealer takes another card from the deck.

This process repeats itself around the circle until someone gets four of a kind (the fun part). If the cards make it all the way back to the dealer, start a new pile for him.

I usually place the card I am passing to the person next to me on the ground. Handing it over takes too long.

When you get four of the kind you can try and take a spoon sneakily or dive in and grab one. Once the first one is taken everyone must get one. Grab as fast as you can!

When the dust settles the person without a spoon is eliminated. Remove a utensil, too.

Repeat!

You want to pass your cards along as fast as possible. The faster the more fun!

To add some real spice to this game place the spoons in a different room or farther away if you're outside. The need to run doubles the fun!

To play a variation of this free party game, instead of eliminating people straight out, you can give them an S. As the players spell "S-P-O-O-N-S" they are out.

Either way, whoever is last wins!
