Teen Scavenger Hunt Ideas

Choice in Teen Scavenger Hunt Ideas

Teenagers are naturally active creatures. It would seem that that their natural friskiness as children has been magnified in two with a healthy dose of hyperactivity, to boot!

Well, what better way to throw a party for them than with teen scavenger hunt ideas by your side?

But first certain choices must be made so as to ensure success. Basically, your final choice will boil down to your budget, your allowable time and your number of guests, all of which are in your control. (Something that cannot be said of your sometimes rebellious teenagers but that's another story altogether)

Number of Items

The very first step you have to decide on is the number of items that you wish to provide as prizes after the scavenger hunt. It may be that you will only hide one major prize for all the guests so as to increase the excitement of finding a valuable gift. It may be many minor prizes scattered all over the area so that the guests will not leave home empty-handed.

Again, your final decision for teen scavenger hunt ideas related to number of items will rest on your budget. After all, you have to make sure that your gift items are well worth the efforts of finding them high and low. Plus, you have to feed your guests, who are known to be ravenously hungry during this stage in their lives.

If you decide to give just one major gift, you had better hide it so well that your teen guests will not readily find it. You want to extend the festivities a little while longer.

Venue

Yet another important factor when considering teen scavenger hunt ideas is the venue. Will the scavenger hunt be conducted outdoors or indoors or both? In this case, the weather is the primary determinant of your choice although the thought of so many teenagers running through the house may also affect your decision.

Now, if you decide to include the indoors in your scavenger hunt, it will be a good idea to start indoors then proceed outdoors as the game progresses. This way, you have many more places to hide the gift items than behind bushes, up in trees and underneath pots.

You may also have to be very creative with hiding the gift items. For example, instead of obvious places like behind bushes, you can always hide the item in a hollowed out tree with a clever plant cover.

Riddles

You also have to decide on yet another teen scavenger hunt ideas - to give or not to give clues. It can be that the teenagers will find the gift items on their own without you having to give riddles, puzzles and clues. It can also be that you will provide riddles and puzzles that will lead them to the gift items but only after figuring out the answers.

The latter option will provide for more excitement during the scavenger hunt but it will also involve more imagination and participation on your part. Are you ready to be running up and down stairs together with the ever-active teens?

There are many choices to be made with teen scavenger hunt ideas. Still, the fun starts with the choosing as they say so you might as well enjoy the preparation process.
